Username
How can I hide my real IP address or hostname?

First log in to X, then use /mode your_nickname +x. Your visible host will change to an UnderX user hostname such as your_username.users.underx.org.
This change is temporary and must be enabled again after reconnecting.

How do I add or remove users from X?

Add access with /msg X ADDUSER #channel username level.
Remove access with /msg X REMUSER #channel username.

How do I connect to UnderX?

You can connect using irc.underx.org with a standard IRC client or use the UnderX WebChat page.

How do I find an IRC operator?

Switch to your status window and enter /who 0 o. The first character after /who is the number zero.

How do I log in to X with my username?

Use /msg X@channels.underx.org LOGIN username password. Log in at least once every 180 days to keep the username active.
To log out, quit and reconnect. A username cannot be logged in from more than one nickname at the same time.

How do I register my channel?

Use /msg X register #channel-name and follow the response from X.

Visit the Channel Service registration page, or type /msg X hello in IRC and follow the instructions.

My username was suspended. What should I do?

Join #username and provide the affected username, or contact an IRC operator or administrator.

Someone took over my channel. What should I do?

Keep timestamped logs that show the channel is yours, then contact an IRC operator for assistance.

What does channel mode +r mean?

+r restricts a channel to users who are logged in to X. Channel operators can invite another user with /invite nickname #channel or remove the mode with /mode #channel -r.

What should I do if I am G-lined?

A typical G-line lasts 24 hours. Wait for it to expire; if you believe it is an error or the problem continues, contact the abuse team.
